Piers, railings and gates
to Imdina and Rome Croft

Piers, railings and gates as street boundary. l840. Rendered piers and dwarf
walls and cast iron railings and gates. Two piers c.600 mm square and 2.5 m
high to pyramid cappings; sunk panels to moulded edge, plinth, linked by raking
wall, c.1 m high, capped with cast iron railings to c.2 m. Railing returns at
top corner to gable end, and to right, at c.600 m height across the front of the
two houses to the front of Kingsland (qv) with which railings and piers are
continuous. At right a gate in detail as railings. Important to the ensemble.
