piers to Kingsland

GV II

Railings, gates and piers to street frontage. 1840. Rendered piers and dwarf
walls, cast iron railings and gates. Pair of square piers (one shared with
adjoining premises) c.600 mm square and 2.5 m high to pyramidal capping, sunk
moulded panels and plinth, linked by raking dwarf wall c.1 m high carrying cast
iron railings to c.1 m height. Centrally cast iron gates to cast iron
standards, shaped top to accommodate change in level, dog bars. Important to
the ensemble.
