House, now shop and store. C16 or C17 much rebuilt and
refronted late C18/early C19; C20 alterations.
Red brick in Flemish bond with some surviving timber-framing.
Welsh-slate roof with deep rendered eaves cornice and brick
end-stack on left.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar. 2-window range, of horned 6/6
sashes to 1st floor, smaller unhorned 3/6 sashes above, all
with painted channelled voussoirs and keystones. Sill-bands.
Ground floor: on left, shopfront has plate-glazed bay-window,
C20 glazed door, and deep enriched cornice obscured by C20
fascia and blind; carriage entrance to right; rendered plinth,
with cellar grille below window. Light-scantling square-panel
timber-framing visible in side-passage wall.
Rear: painted brick wing also partly timber-framed.
INTERIOR: not inspected, but noted as having square-panel
timber-framing and fireplace with bracketed hood.
Front elevation relates to that of Nos 21 & 23 (qv). The
side-passage marks the line of the old parish boundary and the
beginning of the former leather quarter.
