House. C16 and C17 with possibly mid C15 origins. Right part
has close-studded timber-frame with plaster infill; left part
is of coursed blue lias rubble; steeply pitched renewed tile
roof with stone slate rear pitch and painted stone end stack
and cross-axial stack with 2 diagonal shafts. 3-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: single storey plus attic; 3-window range. Entrance
to right of centre has large C20 lean-to porch with leaded
lights flanking studded door. To left a large raking buttress
between 2- plus 2-light and 3 plus 3-light recessed
chamfered-mullioned windows with labelmoulds and leaded
glazing; close-studded timber-framed part to right of porch
has 4-light leaded casement with small light to left. 1st
floor had 3 gabled dormers: stone dormer with plastered gable
to right of centre has 3-light window with labelmould; small
dormer to left has 2-light leaded casement; dormer to right
end has tile-hung cheeks and 3-light leaded casement.
Right return has close-studding on rubble plinth; 2 windows
with 2-light small-paned casements with iron opening casements
flank 2 leaded lights; wide verge.
Rear has some exposed timber framing to centre; C20 door and
varied fenestration, including window with stained glass
fragments and 1:3:1-light hipped bay window; left end has
large flat-roofed C20 addition and 2 raking dormers.
INTERIOR: not inspected, but recorded as having chamfered
beams and exposed joists; fireplaces with timber bressumers
and stair with figure to bottom newel.
