Jasmine Cottage

Cottage. C17 with C19 and late C20 additions. Timber-frame
with plastered infill and some rubble; thatch roof with brick
end stack; brick and plastered breeze block additions with
tile roofs. Single-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: single storey with attic. Small window with 2-light
casement and timber pentice; full-height framing panels with
rails and tension braces. Left return has painted stone bulge
to fireplace back and 2 small lights to attic.
Right return has original gable wall and single-storey and
attic addition with segmental-headed window with 2-light
pegged casement, altered 1991 by further addition to end.
Rear has small single-storey lean-to outshut and small raking
dormer.
INTERIOR: noted as having projecting chimney breast with
fireplace.
Probably originally a squatter's cottage on the edge of the
village, as also Little Thatch (qv).
