House, now divided. Probably C17 with mid- to late C19 alterations and
additions. Timber framed, partly rebuilt and probably partly refaced
in rendered and painted brick with painted imitation framing; plain
tile roofs. U-plan; central hall range of probably 2 framed bays, and
flanking gabled cross-wings of probably 2 framed bays projecting to
north-west. One storey and attic. North-west front: dentil brick
eaves cornice to hall range and central gabled eaves dormer with 2-light
wooden casement; large brick ridge stacks; brick ridge stacks to left
just off-centre to right with paired star-shaped shafts and oversailing
tops, and integral brick lateral stack to right-hand cross-wing. Hall
range with C19 two-light segmental-headed wooden casement to left and
C19 three-light wooden casement to right; left-hand cross-wing with
C20 three-light wooden casement on each floor; gabled cross-wing to
right with first-floor C20 two-light wooden casement, 2 glazed doors,
and C20 lean-to porch with casements flanking central half-glazed door.
Gabled eaves dormer and porch to No.26 at rear. Interior: collar and
tie-beam roof trusses; chamfered purlins; chamfered beams, joists and
wall-plate.
