Cottage. Mid-C17 with late C19 and mid- to late C20 alterations and
additions. Timber framed with painted brick nogging on painted brick
and sandstone rubble plinth, and brick additions with planted timbers;
plain tile roof. 2 framed bays with additions. One storey and attic.
2 gabled eaves dormers with 2-light wooden casements; integral brick
end stack to right and integral brick lateral stack in front of C19
addition to left. Framing: square panels (3 from sole-plate to wall-
plate) with short straight corner braces. Large C20 plate-glass window
to right; C20 lean-to porch off-centre with two C20 casements to front
and boarded door in left-hand return front. One-storey C20 addition
set-back to right, cantilevered over the Cound Brook. Two C20 eaves
dormers at rear. Interior: collar and tie-beam roof trusses
with queen struts; chamfered cross-beam ceiling; chamfered fireplace
lintel.
