House. 1888-1890. Architect H.B.Measures, builder William
Willett. Queen Anne Revival style. Red brick, terracotta
detailing, applied timber-framing and tile-hanging to
bargeboarded gable ends, left gable-end half-hipped, hipped
roof to oriel over entrance, tall polygonal stack with moulded
cap rising from eaves centre, simpler stacks rising on
returns. Plan: single-fronted. 3 storeys plus attic, 1:1 bays;
mixed fenestration, chamfered mullions to windows, many paned
sash windows to hipped dormer centre, also in tall gable end
right, second floor window right gives acess to balcony with
balustrade over 2-storey canted bay, half-hipped gable left
with 2 small many paned sash windows, oriel with sidelights to
first floor, rectangular unglazed openings to segmental-headed
recessed porch, door renewed. The 1898 street directory for
Hove lists this property as the Willett Estate Office.
