House. 1888-1890. Architect H.B.Measures, builder William
Willett. Queen Anne Revival style. Red brick, terracotta
detailing, steeply pitched clay tile roofs, applied timber
framing to bargeboarded gable end right, tile-hung dormers,
also gable end right, bonnet hip roof to oriel over entrance,
polygonal stack rising from eaves on centre of facade, tall
stacks rising on returns. Plan: single-fronted. 3 storeys plus
attic, 1:1 bays, mixed fenestration, mainly chamfered mullions
with small upper lights, flat-roofed dormer centre with many
paned sash windows, 2 similar windows in gabled dormer left on
second floor, right 3 windows give acess to balustraded
balcony of 2-storey canted bay, semicircular oriel left with
leaded lights over tiny 4 and 2-light window openings lighting
hall behind flat-roofed terracotta porch with moulded cornice
and decorative panels to dado; segmental-headed opening right,
3 leaded lights left and 3 bay returns, original panelled
door.
