Pair of semi-detached villas, now divided into flats. 1880s,
built by William Willett. Yellow stock bricks with lavish use
of moulded and incised bricks for cornices, string courses,
aprons and lintels, rendered basement, hipped slate roofs with
hipped bay projecting into attic storey, gabled dormers. Plan:
each dwelling with canted bay to right. 2 storeys plus attic
over basement, 1:3:1:3 bays, full-height canted bays with
gabled dormers in roof space above, hipped attic storey to
entrance bay right, but not to entrance bay end left, sash
windows without glazing bars in segmental-headed openings,
cills carried on shaped brackets, round arched entrances with
ornate capitals carried on rusticated piers, recessed panelled
doors with fanlights and sidelights. Broad tessellated
pavement to No 65 returned to gatepiers. Walls with gatepiers,
brick, moulded coping, square piers with moulded caps, walls
without their original railings. Part of a group of Willett
estate buildings in The Drive.
