House, part formerly a shop. Late C16-C17 with early C19 shop extension to
front of left bay, refurbished C20. Timber frame with colourwashed brick and
render infill on colourwashed stone base, the original part with pantiled roof
and brick chimney between right bays. C19 extension is of colourwashed brick
with hipped slate roof. l ½ storeys and cellar; 3 bays. Right bays, with framing
exposed to front, have irregular C20 wooden casements: right bay has 2-
light casement to ground floor, and cellar window; centre bay has 3-light ground
floor casement, roof raised over upper 2-light window, and C20 door to left.
Exposed truss and similar casement in right gable. C19 projection in front of
left bay is of 2 full storeys with basement, and has C20 barred wooden windows
with opening top lights. Metal steps lead up to first floor door, 6-panelled,
with flanking bowed windows, all a C20 renewal of former C19 shop front, with
frieze and cornice.
