Farmhouse, probably C17, subsequently enlarged. Pebble-dashed brick,
rendered stone plinth, slate roof with chimneystack behind the ridge.
Three-bay baffle-entry plan. Two storeys; 1st bay gabled, its ridge
at right angles to the main axis; single storey gabled porch at junction
of 2nd and 3rd bays with round-headed opening and a window in each side;
3 windows on each floor, all altered; windows in side and rear walls also
altered, except a small 2-light window at 1st floor, in right gable and
another at rear of 3rd bay. Interior: a full cruck truss at junction of
1st and 2nd bays, the tie beam and one of the blades undercut at 1st floor
level to make a doorway; 2nd bay has inglenook with ovolo-moulded
bressummer and 2 rounded beams with stops; smoke hood at 1st floor (now
enclosed); internal crosswalls of clamstaff and daub.
