2 adjoining houses. Early C17; No. 12 said to be c.1620, extended into N
bay of No. 14 in C18, rear extension c.1977; No. 14 has a short C19 S
end extension. Timber frames with red brick infill and casing to ground
floor. Steep old red tile roofs. A 2-storeys range facing E set back
from road. No. 12 occupies N part of range, has 3 3-light windows on
each floor. Yorkshire sliding casements with small panes. Plank door to
left of N window in line with internal chimney and lobby entry. Timber
frame of N gable has clasped purlins on a collar. Interior has chimney
built in former cross-passage, and stair up N gable. The floor levels
are higher than in No. 14. This has a gabled brick rear wing, red
tilehung S gable and external S gable chimney. The front has 3 windows
to each floor, wide-spaced studs, straight tension braces. The left-hand
part appears to be framed as a cross-wing but this is not now reflected
in the roof.
