House. C16, extended in C20. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with handmade
red clay tiles. 4 bays facing W, with axial stack in second bay from right end.
External stack at left end, incorporated in adjacent building. Front elevation
has a slight obtuse angle, following the line of the street. Lean-to stair
tower behind main stack, C17, not now containing a stair. C18 single-storey
lean-to extension behind right end, C20 2-storey extension behind left end. 2
storeys. Ground floor, 2 C20 casements, 2 C19 horizontally sliding sashes of 8
and 12 lights respectively. First floor, one C19 and 2 C20 casements and one
small fixed light. C20 door. Large stack, reduced 5 courses above ridge. The
interior has jowled posts, curved tension braces trenched inside heavy studding,
chamfered axial beams with step stops, plain joists of horizontal section, 2
large wood-burning hearths. RCHM 40.
