Terrace of 8 houses and attached railings to sides of steps
and boundary railings to left (No.109). c1820-50. Stucco over
brick with slate roof, brick and stucco party-wall stacks;
iron porches (to Nos 121 and 123) and railings. Double-depth
plan with full-height service ranges to rear.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basement, 16 first-floor windows (2 per
house). Stucco detailing includes horizontal rustication to
ground floor drawn into voussoirs over wide segmentally-arched
plain recesses around windows and aprons with sunk panels and
reeding; moulded first-floor band surmounted by Doric
pilasters to ends and paired Doric pilasters between windows,
stepped architrave, frieze and dentil cornice with blocking
course. Mainly 6/6 sashes (where original), those to ground
floor wider with margin lights; basement has 6/6 sashes where
original. Entrances to right: flights of steps to 4-panel
doors, some part-glazed, with overlights with margin glazing.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: porches to Nos 121 and 123 have slender
pillars and scrolled frieze; to right sides of steps are
railings with bars and dog-bars, to left sides of steps are
X-motif balustrades; railings attached to left for approx 3m
have spearhead bars and dog-bars with anthemion-headed finials
to stanchions.
