Terrace of 5 houses, now flats, and attached railings to Nos
81, 83, 97 and 89. c1820-50. Stucco over brick, roughcast to
No.81, with slate roofs, stucco party-wall stacks; wrought-
and iron porches, railings, and balcony and window guards
(with lead enrichments).
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys on basements, 10 first-floor windows (2
per house). Stucco detailing includes ground-floor rustication
and first-floor band to No.81; cornice to Nos 83, 87 and 89;
Nos 83 and 89 have parapet ramped up at ends with copings,
otherwise low parapet with copings. 6/6 sashes where original,
taller to first floor; 3/3 sashes to second floor; all in
plain reveals and with sills. 2 pairs of entrances and at
right: 6-panel doors, some part-glazed, that to No.81 with
porch with round-arched openings to front and sides and Doric
pillars.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: spearheaded area railings with urn
finials to stanchions; first-floor window guards to Nos 83, 85
and 89 have embellished rods with lattice frieze and central
scrolled panel; window box to No.85 has scroll motif; balcony
to No.81 has a 'particularly fine' example of
rod-and-concentric circle motif with central roundel. Porches
except to right (No.81) have scroll and lozenge motif, tent
roofs remain to left pair. Railings to No.85 have been
renewed.
