5/71 Lilac Cottage

II

Cottage. Mid Cl9 with later addition to rear. Tooled-and-dressed sandstone;
Welsh slate roof; ashlar stacks. Square plan. Single storey, 2 x 3 narrower
bays. Low plinth and clasping Tuscan pilasters. Windows have raised surrounds
and projecting sills. Street frontage has two 16-pane sashes. Right return
has central, partly-glazed 4-panel door with patterned 4-pane overlight in
Tuscan doorcase; single 16-pane sash to right. Eaves gutter originally supported
on paired, square stone brackets; low-pitched hipped roof with two corniced
ridge stacks.
