Terrace of seven cottages, c.1830. Tooled and dressed sandstone; continuous
roof of sandstone flags; ashlar stacks. Each cottage single storey, 3 bays
with central door; windows and doors have raised surrounds. Slightly-projecting
central cottage (No.4) forms focus of symmetrical composition. No. 4 has dressed
quoins, simple pedimented Tuscan doorcase, two 24-pane bow windows and flat-
coped gables. Nos. 1 and 7 have dressed quoins and flat-coped gables. All
cottages have boarded doors except No. 7 which has late C20, glazed door. Nos.
1,2,3 and 5 have C20 casements, No. 6 has two 2-pane sashes, No. 7 has two 4-pane
sashes. Corniced gable stacks, 5 similar ridge stacks, one rebuilt brick stack
between Nos. 1 and 2.
