House. Dated 1647 and 1658. Coursed squared gritstone, graduated stone
slate roof. Of 2 builds: the earlier 2-storey, 2-bay house with rear
outshut and lobby-entrance plan to right; wide cross wing of 2 storeys with
attics to left. C20 board door with moulded and quoined jambs, date plaque
inscribed "1647" and dripmould obscured by ivy to left of earlier wing.
Recessed chamfered mullion windows throughout, of 2 lights formerly 4-lights
to ground floor with fixed small-pane windows and 2 and 3 lights to first
floor. Kneeler and gable coping to right. Left bay: 6-light window with
central king mullion to ground and first floors, continuous dripmould over;
oval attic window with dripmould above on shallow consoles. Shaped
kneelers, gable copings, pyramidal finials. Large banded stack straddles
the ridge above the door, smaller corniced stack to right. Right return:
two 2-light windows to ground floor, a 2-light window with spiral-stopped
hoodmould to first floor plus a narrow light to outshut; 2 single-light
windows to gable, the left light blocked; a moulding at sill level has
spiral stops. Interior not inspected at resurvey.
