House. Mid C18 with C19 and C20 extensions and alterations. Red brick in
Flemish bond to early section; red brick extension to right; yellow brick
extensions to left and rear. Slate roofs. L-shaped on plan: 2-room central
entrance hall front with extensions to left and right and 2-room rear wing
with outshuts in angle. 2 storeys, 5 first floor windows; 2-storey single-
bay wings set back on either side. Central entrance has recessed 6-fielded
panel door and 3-pane overlight in doorcase with pannelled pilasters and
plain consoles supporting moulded pediment. Two C19 plate glass sashes to
left in flush wood architraves with stuccocills and painted rubbed brick
flat arches. Late C19 - early C20 brick canted bay window to right with 6
plate glass sashes, stucco cills, brick flat arches and stone-coped parapet.
First floor 12-pane sashes in flush wooden architraves with stucco cills and
painted rubbed brick flat arches. Coved plaster eaves cornice. Brick coped
and tumbled gables. End stacks. Wing to left has C20 extension to front,
steeply-pitched roof, end stack. Wing to right, truncated in C20, has
blocked ground and first floor windows, brick coped and tumbled gable.
Interior. Entrance hall has panelled dado, 6-fielded-panel doors in ovolo-
moulded eared architraves, dentilled cornice, open well staircase with
ramped and wreathed handrail, column-on-vase balusters with square knops and
panelled dado with moulded rail; ground floor right has fielded panelling
with moulded dado rail and dentilled wooden cornice; ground floor left has
moulded dado rail with plain panelling below and fielded panelling above
with moulded cornice; panelled window shutters and doors in architraves
throughout.
