House. C18 origins, with C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Rendered
brick, incised in imitation of ashlar. Concrete tile roof. Approximately
rectangular on plan: 2-room central entrance hall south front with wing to
rear left of 2-rooms (originally 3) and later addition in angle. 2 storeys,
4 first-floor windows. Plinth, banded rustication to ground floor. Flight
of 3 stone steps to recessed 2-leaf fielded-panel door in raised surround
with moulded pediment. Recessed sashes with margin lights and sandstone
sills to ground floor. Moulded first-floor band. Similar first-floor
windows with recessed panels below. Stepped eaves. Axial and end stacks.
Left return of 4 bays with similar windows. Right return of 4 bays has
three 12-pane sashes to each floor. Interior: contains C18 chimneypieces
inserted in 1920s: to ground floor right in carved pine with fluted
pilasters, acanthus capitals, Gothick frieze with floral decoration; to
ground floor left with central panel and festoons in frieze; to rear left in
white marble with fluted pilasters, carved urns and green marble insets to
frieze.
