House. C17 or earlier; early C20 stack, later C20 windows, door and
rendering to front; C20 additions to left. Timber-framing with mud-and-stud
infill, rendered to front. Thatch roof. 3 bays of timber frame. 2-room
central lobby-entry plan with sequence of C20 additions to left. Single
storey, 2 windows. C20 door flanked by C20 3-light casements. Hipped
thatched roof with ornate ridge capping. Central axial stack. Mud-and-stud
infill exposed to rear. Interior. Main members of well-preserved pegged
oak framing visible in room to left with late raised ceiling: wall posts on
roughly-shaped padstones, linked by middle rails and with curved braces to
wall plates and tie beams. Framing concealed by plaster in room to right.
Chimney replaces original mud-and-stud firehood.
