Villa, now commercial premises. c1830s. Possibly by Philip
Sambell for Josephus Ferris, developer. Incised stucco, dry
Delabole slate roof with wide eaves, hipped return on left,
rendered brick stack on right. Shallow plan with 2 rooms at
the front flanking a central hall plus 2 small service wings
at the rear. 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window front. Central
elliptically-headed doorway with rustication and distyle Doric
porch with elliptically arched front and sides, circles to
frieze and moulded cornice. C20 door, traceried fanlight;
plinth, terminal fluted pilasters (also to 1-window Edward
Street front), keyblocks; sashes with margin panes to ground
floor, 16-pane sashes above, all horned copies. INTERIOR:
original moulded and carved plaster ceiling cornice to
left-hand room, otherwise not inspected.
