Small town house and corner shop with accommodation, now with
offices above. c1830s. Built for developer Josephus Ferris.
Incised stucco on studwork; asbestos slate roof with hipped
return on left. Shallow plan with corner shop with curved
angle on the left with entrance hall behind (Little Castle
Street) and small house on the right with altered plan when
incorporated with shop. 2 storeys; 3-window front to Frances
Street, 2-window front to Little Castle Street. One original
16-pane hornless sash to middle of Frances Street front,
otherwise horned copies. Plinth, round-headed doorways with
rustications; Frances Street doorway now has C20 sash, former
window now doorway. Little Castle Street has C20 door and
plain fanlight. C19 double shop front has doorway on splay and
bowed angle above; fluted terminal pilasters, slender iron
stanchions flanking doorway and original fascia with flat
cornice. INTERIOR not inspected.
