Large barn, with stable attached on north east side. Probably
early/mid C18, date 1764 scratched on stone on inside corner of
eastern porch on right hand side. Coursed rubble stone with
alternating flush quoins, stone slate roof with ball finials to
gables. Originally with 6 large plain buttresses to each side, the
3 to north east now absorbed into stable wing forming L-shape.
Opposed projecting central gabled 2-storey cart entries with
segmental relieving arch over timber lintel and double timber
doors, pitch hole in gable, blocked to west, and entrances on south
returns, blocked to east. Segmental arch on wall plane. Slit
vents to sides and ends. Gable ends also have round-headed pitch
opening with keystone and imposts in flush stone surround and small
relieving arch. Two small C20 windows below on south end. Eight
bays, king post trusses to collar beams with small corbel posts at
base of principals, 3 tenoned purlins. Internal partition wall up
to first floor height halfway down south side. Stable to north
east has pitch hole above door and 2-light window on south side and
ball finial to gable.
