2 houses, now workrooms. Early C19, altered late C19 and C20.
red brick with ashlar dressings and slate roof with 2 gable
stacks. Chamfered and ramped ashlar plinth. 4 storeys; 5:1
windows. Ground floor has to left a blocked door flanked by
reglazed cross casements. To right, another cross casement,
then a blocked door and a mid C19 panelled door with
overlight. Above, 6 original glazing bar sashes. Above again,
6 reglazed windows. All these windows have painted wedge
lintels with keystones. Third floor has 6 smaller glazing bar
sashes.
This building demonstrates the evolution of the Lace Market
area from residential to commercial use.
