South aisle west window stained glass. On the left, a shield with 3 fleus de lys slipped proper, in chief a fleur de lys and lion to represent Royal descent. Centre top, the Arms of Southwell diocese Sable three fountains, in chief a stag couchant proper, Virgin and child proper, Or a cross raguly vert. Crest a bishops mitre. Below this, the Tilney Arms, Argent per pale a chevron between three griffins heads erased gules and langued azure. Crest a squires helm azure trimmed or, cloaked gules and argent A griffins head gules erased. Motto, Sperando Spiro (To breathe is to hope). Memorial to Robert Adolphus Cecil Tilney d. 26th Apr 1959. On the right, his Regimental Shield for the 17th / 21st Lancers. (Photo May 2008).
