Pair of gatepiers to the east of Harper Hill House

II

A pair of gatepiers. Late C18. Ashlar gritstone gatepiers,
square on plan, approximately 3m high, and banded with
advanced alternating ashlar blocks. A shallow moulded cornice
sits below a blocking course, and above, a boldly projecting
moulded cap. Two piers retain the rebates for tall gates, now
replaced by a C20 five-bar farm gate.
