Villa. 1818. By John Chappel, builder (described as a
labourer). Stucco on rubble; asbestos slate roof behind
parapet. Double-depth plan with central entrance hall flanked
by 2 reception rooms with canted bays at the front. 2 storeys;
symmetrical 1:1:1-fenestration to 3-window range. Central
elliptical-arched doorway with 6-panel door and spoked
fanlight within distyle Tuscan portico. Plinth, mid-floor
string, moulded cornice under parapet, carried over flanking
canted bays, and key blocks to flat arches over original
hornless sashes with glazing bars. INTERIOR not inspected but
likely to be of interest.
