House. Early C16 with early C19 rear addition and C20
renovation. Timber-framed and plastered with brick, slate
roof. Plan rectangular. 2 storeys. W front elevation:
continuous jetty with exposed end brackets, bressumer and
joists masked by facia board. Facade has early C20 raised
pargetted rough-cast panels. 2 window range, ground floor has
2 triple sash windows, 1x4, 3x4, 1x4 panes, boarded door.
First floor, 2 sash windows with moulded architraves, glazing
bars, 4x4 panes, central early C19 stack. Rear, E elevation:
C19 2 storey addition, brick ground floor, timber-framed
above, all rendered. Low pitched roof taken back to apex of
original street range. 2 window range. Ground floor, one
3-light, one 2-light C20 casement window, C20 door with upper
and lower plain glazing. First floor, 2 early C19 sash windows
with moulded architraves, glazing bars, 4x4 panes.
INTERIOR: 2 bays, flat-laid ground floor ceiling joists with
reduced tenons. Axial joist in N bay has evidence for original
partition. N end wall has external tension brace, stair trap
at rear. Roof has simple 2-way braced crown-posts and collar
purlin. Roof of rear addition simply laid over older steeper
roof pitch. 2 ground floor fireplaces somewhat restored but
retaining segment heads with supporting iron band.
