Large wall monument on the north wall of the chancel to Sir William Villiers d.1711 and his wife Dame Ann Villiers. Black marble plinth, veined grey marble architectural background with Corinthian pilasters and two round-headed arches against which stand life-size figures of Sir William in contemporary dress and his wife in classical-style drapery. 2 winged cherubs heads to spandrels of arches behind their heads. Pilasters have statuary marble capitals and support entablature with urns flanking cartouche of arms; arms and figurative details all of statuary marble. Arms: Argent on a cross gules five mullets or (Villiers modern) Impaling Or two bars azure, over all a bend or, a crescent for difference (Potts).Knights helmet, Out of a wreath a lion rampant, crowned. Inscription: Sacred To the Memory of Sir William Villiers, Baronet Descended from A Race of Worthy Ancestors, Upwards of 500 Years Happily enjoying Great Revenue in this County, in a right Noble and Hospitable Use thereof; By whose much Lamented Death is determined the Male-Line of the Eldest house of that Honourable Name in Great Brittain; to none of whom He was Inferior in all Accomplishments requisite to Adorn his Quality. He departed this Life in the sixty seventh Year of his Age, on the twenty seventh day of February, 1711-12. Near also Rests Dame Ann Villiers, Wife of Sir William, Daughter and Heir of Charles Potts, of the County of Norfolk, Esquire, A Lady of Singular Virtue, Piety, and charity.
