The temptation in the desert. Banners from the Latin Vulgate: Si filius Dei es dic lapidi huic ut panis fiat (Matthew 4.3: If you are the son of God as you say, change this stone into a loaf). Non in solo pane vivit homo, sed in omni verbo Dei (Matthew 4.4 Man does not live only on bread, but with all the words of God). Si filius dei es, mitte te deorsum (Matthew 4.6 If you are the son of god, send yourself away from here). Non tentabis Dominum Deum tuum (The lord your god is not tempted). Sancti angeli ministrabant ei (He was cared for by holy angels). Lower panels: Saints Philip (cross), Thomas (arrow), Bartholomew (knife) and Matthew (Spear and purse). South aisle. To the Glory of God and in memory of Thomas Burgh Dalby, Charles Allsopp Dalby, John Dalby and other members of the same family This window is erected by affectionate relatives AD mdccclxxx (1880).
