Villa now subdivided into flats. 1890-1900. Built by William
Willett. Yellow stock bricks, stone or composition dressings,
hipped concrete tile roofs to canted bays, overhanging eaves
carried on console-shaped brackets to facade, brick stacks
rising as continuous walls on returns with moulded coping.
Plan: double fronted. 2 storeys over basement, 3:1:3 bays,
sash windows without glazing bars in segmental-headed
openings, moulded strings, full-height canted bays flanking
entrance bay, round arched entrance with decorative spandrels,
rusticated piers with garlanded capitals, recessed doorway
with stained glass to fanlights and sidelights, also in the 2
lights inserted in the original 6-panel door; approached by
flight of steps with tessellated pavement. Ornate cast-iron
window box guards survive to ground floor windows. Right
return: 2 tall stairway windows with stained glass.
