Farmhouse, c.1530-50 with alterations of C19 and C20. 2 storeys. 3-cell
cross-entry plan. Timber-framed; the south elevation encased in mid C19 red
brick, the remaining walls plastered. Plaintiled roof; an axial chimney of
red brick, the shaft rebuilt C19. C19 casements with cambered heads on the
south side, C20 casements with leaded lights elsewhere; one glazed C16 diamond
mullioned window. Entrance in C20 pantiled lean-to porch. Heavy unmoulded
timber framing: close-studding with prominent arch windbraces, large
unchamfered floor joists, coupled-rafter roof. Two wide back-to-back
fireplaces with cambered lintels. The parlour cell at the east end has a roll-
moulded bridging beam; this cell may have been rebuilt in later C16.
