House, mid C16 with alterations of early C17. 2 storeys. 3-cell plan.
Timber-framed and plastered. Concrete tiled roof, once thatched; an axial
chimney, the shaft rebuilt in C19 red brick. C19 and C20 small-pane
casements. C20 boarded and battened door on south garden side at cross-entry
position. The hall and service cell (at the east end) are of mid C16, with
heavy unmoulded framing; unchamfered floor joists and diamond mullioned window
evidence. Circa 1600, a parlour block was added, still with unmoulded
framing. Good main beams with lambstongue chamfer stops, unchamfered joists,
blocked windows probably of ovolo-mullioned form.
