C18 brick front of 2 storeys, 3 windows, with dentilled cornice and restored
parapet in front of high-pitched, tiled roof, U-shaped to rear. This indicates
an original date of late C16 or early C17. lst floor centre window blocked
and plastered, the others recessed sashes with glazing bars, all under
stuccoed lintels. 2 later canted bays on ground floor. Central, 6-panel
door, with cornice head and patterned fanlight in panelled reveal, has
reeded architrave and later cornice hood on curved brackets. Rear elevation
has doorcase with reeded architrave and lion masks. 1-window extension
to East over carriageway shows the end of original building, with tile
hung 1st floor jettied out, though supporting brackets are modern.
No 12, Nos 16 to 28, (even) and No 28A form a group.
