Marked as Esk Mill on OS map. Water mill, early C19. Coursed
herringbone-tooled sandstone. Graduated Lakeland slate roof with
stone dressings. 4 storeys, 3 bays. Studded stable door, under
heavy lintel, at bottom right and small window at bottom left.
On first floor 2 small windows above door and larger window at left.
3 evenly-spaced windows on each upper floor. All windows now have
modern joinery, casements with glazing bars in keeping with the
building. At right end a stepped and corniced chimney. Coped
gables on kneelers set above eaves level.
At left a low wheelhouse with wheel in situ. Interior access not
possible at time of survey.
