Pair of cottages, early/mid C18. Rendered random rubble and brick. Renewed
clay pantile roof at right (No. 46); late C20 interlocking clay pantile
roof at left. Brick right end stack, rendered left end stack. 2 storeys,
one bay each. Paired central doorways with renewed doors. No. 44 has mid
C20 casement windows in enlarged openings. No. 46 has 2 ground-floor and
one first-floor windows; renewed sashes with glazing bars. Plinth; rendered
brick corbelling at eaves of No. 46, missing at No. 44. Interior of No.
46 has beamed ceilings on ground floor. Coupled rafter roof has straight
upper collars, arched lower collars and 2 levels of spliced and pegged
through-purlins. Ties removed. Late C20 extensions are not of special
interest. No. 44 included for group value.
