House. Dated 1669 with late C18, C19 and C20 alterations. Rendered rubble to house,
rendered dressed stone to porch, painted stone dressings, stone slate roof. Lobby
entry plan. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Central gabled porch has ground floor late C18
window with moulded surround; 9 pane fixed light. Mid C19 decorated bargeboards
to eaves. Entrance in right-hand return has moulded surround and segmental pointed
head with hoodmould; plank door. Datestone above inscribed T I C (Thomas and Jane
Carr). 2 light chamfered mullioned window in upper floor; early C20 fixed lights.
Left of porch: on ground floor are 3 and 4 light ovolo mullioned window with hood-
moulds; casements and fixed lights. On upper floor is large left-hand window with
C20 casements and 2 light flat faced mullioned window to right; c1980 sash with 6
panes and 8 pane fixed light. Right of porch: on ground floor are two 2-light flat
faced mullioned windows with moulded surrounds; sashes. 2 similar but 3-light flat
faced mullioned windows on upper floor with moulded surround; 6 pane fixed lights
and 2 pane casements. Painted sundial with iron gnomon between windows. Gable
end and right of centre ridge stacks and stack to gable end of porch. Interior:
inglenook fieplace with basket arch. Round-headed entrance to right, flat head
to left. Queen post truss to left-hand range.
