House. Late C18 with earlier C18 origins and mid Cl9 alterations. Slobbered rubble,
stone dressings, stone slate roof. Central staircase plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays.
Central entrance has plain surround on square bases; 6 panel door, top 2 glazed.
Two 2-light flat faced mullioned windows on each floor, those on ground floor
lowered in late C19; 15 pane casements to ground floor, sashes to upper floor.
Central single light on upper floor; 16 pane sashes. Shaped eaves modillions, gable
end kneelers and coping. Gable end ridge stacks. Row of quoins to earlier house
partly visible to left of entrance. Home of Thomas Brayshaw, local historian,
1856-91.
