Large detached dwelling. C17. Squared and coursed limestone, rubble to return gable,
right, stone slate roofs. Three-gabled front to road onto return gables each end;
probably built in two stage, starting with single gabled unit to right. Two storeys
and attic, one window to each gate, 2+2+1 at first floor and 1+2+1 at ground floor,
all modern casements under wood lintols; modern door in stone porch in right gable.
Interior: early C18 stair with turned balusters, square newels and heavy handrail,
straight moulded strip, in right hand gable, and big open fireplace with plain stone
cheeks. At opposite, service end, second fire and bread oven and newel stair.
Original roof structure. One fine 3-panel moulded door in architrave. A former
clothier's house considerably modernised, but still retaining many original details.
