Dwelling and former malthouse. C17 and C18. Squared and coursed limestone, stone
slate roofs. Dwelling in two parts, cross-gabled unit at street-line, left, with main
external stack, right at gable, and second, set-back steep gabled unit to right;
these each tie to later C18 long parallel extensions at back as barn and malthouse.

Gable at street, 3 storeys, one-windowed, 2-light casements with modern louvred
glazing under segmental heads at ground and first floors; on return wall, right,
small fixed stair lights right of stack. Set-back gable 3-storeys, one-windowed,
including blocked opening in gable for which wood cross-mullioned casement is still
visible within. South elevation, 2-windowed, new casements, except C19 2-light under
voussoirs to segmental head, ground floor, right; modern door and flat cantilevered
hood, left. Malthouse includes modern door at first floor approached by external
stair.

Interior: some roof timbers are rough-trimmed half trees; some box framing in
cross-gabled section at first floor, and one door in heavy frame with straight sided
pointed 'arch' over; in southern part of maltings beams with diamond stops, clay
candle sconces on walls. Stone newel stair reputed to be under later wood stair by
main stack. Inscription: 'BR AB 1660' on one chimney breast; no original fireplaces
now exposed.
