Farmhouse, now house. C17, with mid-C19 and late C20 alterations. Part
timber-framed with rendered infill on rubble base, part rendered rubble with
plain tiled roofs. Hall and cross-wing plan. Hall part of probably two bays
aligned east/west; external rubble chimney with brick stack adjoins north
side. Cross-wing of two bays adjoins east end with external chimney on east
side. Single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: hall part has three
panels from sill to wall-plate and short straight upper corner braces. Cross-
wing has two large panels from sill to wall-plate, a short straight braces
in the upper left corner of the north elevation and a long straight brace
across the lower right corner of the upper right panels. Collar and tie-
beam truss above with four struts below collar and V-struts above. North
front elevation: windows are C20 replacements, hall part has a 3-light case-
ment, an 8-pane window and a rectangular window on the ground floor and two
gabled dormers with 2-light casements. Cross-wing gable end has a 2-light
and a single-light window on the ground floor and two attic lights. At the
right side is the present main entrance which has a glazed C20 door and lean
to canopy on a timber post; the canopy is continued to the external chimney.
Attic light at west end. Also single-storey rubble wing at west end with
rectangular light and recessed ledged and battened door. (VCH, IV, p 349).
