Medieval hall house divided up in C16. Extended in C18. Timber frame,
stone and brick. Almost entirely encased in C18 painted brick. Long range
of two storeys and attic, central block raised with hipped tile roof and
brick dentil eaves. Various windows, sashes and casements, some modern,
panelled door with hood. The main block of house is medieval and probably
formed single storey hall. RCHM volume II, page 220, item 4.
