Monument To John, 4th Earl Of Rutland d1588 And Countess Elizabeth (daughter of Francis Charlton of Apley Castle) d1594. Sculpted by Gerard Johnson 1591. Above are the gauntlets and vambraces of a suit of armour. Countess Elizabeth was said to have founded the nearby Rutland Hospital in 1590.
