Obelisk. Dated 1812. Sandstone. Square section tapering to top
with cavetto-moulded plinth and square base; formerly surmounted by
ball finial. Inscription on plinth reads "The Tenantry of Besford
and Lee-Bridge erected this obelisk as a token of esteem to their landlord
Sir Andrew Vincent Corbet Bart. and to commemorate the coming of age
of his eldest son Vincent Rowland Corbet Esq." A short verse below
was illegible at time of resurvey (January 1986).
