House. Probably early C16, partly remodelled late C16 with later additions
and alterations. Pebbledash concealing timber frame; plain tile roof.
Original plan of 3 framed bays with 2 right bays open to roof, floored
over and stack inserted late C16; stone outshut to rear. One storey
and attic; C19 casement to left of entrance with C20 and C19 casements
to right; raking eaves dormer directly above centre window has C19
casement. C20 six-panel door under C19 gabled wooden porch to left
of centre with prominent brick ridge stack immediately to left. Interior:
framing exposed to back wall: rectangular panels, 2 from cill to wall-
plate, with straight tension braces; also to cross-wall between centre
and right rooms, which has long straight tension braces. Late C16
deep-chamfered cross-beam ceiling with heavy joists in room to right
of stack, which has partly infilled inglenook with C19 wooden fireplace
and cast-iron grate. Similar ceiling in right ground-floor room.
C17 panelled and plank doors throughout. Single-purlin collar and
tie beam roof in 3 bays with straight windbraces; doorway cut through
tie beam of second truss from left implying that ceiling is an insertion.
Outshut to rear (former dairy), divided into 2 with stone-flag floor.
