Farmhouse. C17 with earlier features, altered C18. Coursed squared marlstone
with ashlar dressings and some wooden lintels; concrete plain-tile roof with
stone-and-brick stacks. T plan, probably in 2 builds. 2 storeys plus attic.
3-window front is in 2 sections at an oblique angle, both with a chamfered
plinth. Right section is probably older and has a central 2-storey bay window
with a moulded string and stone gable; blocked side windows and the surround of
a 3-light stone-mullioned first-floor window remain, but front windows have
inserted casements, the lower window larger with a wooden lintel. To right of
the bay is a small 2-light C15 stone window with cinqfoiled heads. Left section
is slightly taller and has a blocked stone-mullioned cellar window, a large
3-light casement below an ashlar flat arch, and has the entrance adjoining the
junction of sections; first floor has an old 4-light leaded casement plus a
2-light casement above the doorway. Steep-pitched roof has a central diagonal
stack, and a further stack on the gable parapet to left. Left gable wall has
further casements plus a sash. Plinth returns around main range and rear wing.
Interior: massive central chimneybreast with through passage to rear;
stop-chamfered beams.
