Farmhouse, now house. Probably mid C17, possibly re-modelled or extended c.1700.
Coursed squared marlstone with wooden lintels; concrete plain-tile roof with
stone-and-brick stacks. L plan. 2 storeys plus attics. 3-window front, with the
wing projecting on the right, has two 4-light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned
windows at ground floor, 2 similar 3-light windows at first floor, and has a
cross window at first floor near the junction with the wing; entrance between
bays one and 2 has an old "stable" door, but a second doorway between bays 2 and
3 is blocked. Wing retains a further old cross window at first floor but has
been altered below. Several windows have old leaded glazing, and the mullioned
windows have stop-chamfered lintels. Steep-pitched roofs have gable parapets,
the wing gable with a stack; a further stone-based stack rises in line with trio
blocked entrance. Left gable has a 3-light ovolo-moulded window. 4-window rear
has old 2-light casements to the right bay, a 16-pane ground-floor sash to the
next bay, and a leaded 3-light casement at ground floor in the left bay; all
other windows are C20 insertions. Interior: stop-chamfered beams, one with ovolo
moulding; massive central stack with back-to-back open fireplces, one with a
cambered ovolo-moulded bressumer, the other altered C18 with a bread oven;
ogee-moulded doorframe; C17 and C18 panelled doors; dogleg stair rising to
attics; butt-purlin roof.
