Late 19th century. 3-storey 3-bay stugged coursed cream ashlar sandstone house with shop and narrow pend at ground; polished margins, stop-chamfered arrises, shaped cills. Pend to Darnley's Close to left, 3-bay shop to right with plate glass windows flanking modern glass door; awning box and cornice above; base course. At 1st floor, bipartite window to left. 4-pane timber replacement sash and case windows. Grey slates.
This property is apparently built on the site of the house of the Earls of Home, where Lord Darnley stayed when visiting Queen Mary. Garage rebuilt to rear with conservatory at 1st floor, 1993.
